Yes: Grocerplan is a free web meal planner that imports recipes from a link (up to 10 at once), plans seven dinners for your week and turns them into one grocery list. Yummly shut down its website and app on December 20, 2024, according to Plan to Eat's blog, and yummly.com now forwards to kitchenaid.com/recipes. If what you miss most is a big recipe box to search, Samsung Food (free) or Paprika ($4.99 on iPhone and iPad) fits that better.

What happened to Yummly

Yummly was a recipe search engine and aggregator that Whirlpool bought in 2017, according to TechCrunch. Plan to Eat's blog says Yummly shut down its website and mobile app on December 20, 2024, and Wikipedia says the app and website went offline that December, with the website pointing to KitchenAid. On October 7, 2026, every yummly.com address we tried, old recipe links included, forwarded to kitchenaid.com/recipes.

Bring your Yummly favorites into Grocerplan

1.
Old Yummly links won't bring a recipe back: they forward to kitchenaid.com/recipes, not to the recipe.
2.
Many recipes on Yummly came from other websites, so look each favorite up by name on the site it came from, and copy that page's link.
3.
In Grocerplan, open Recipes, tap Add recipe, then Import from link.
4.
Paste up to 10 links, one per line. You can import 30 recipes a day.
5.
Check each imported recipe. Its ingredients are read from the page automatically, and some sites can't be read yet.
6.
Open an imported recipe and tap Add to Plan to put it on a night. Plan my week then fills the empty nights from Grocerplan's recipes.

Other Yummly alternatives, and who they suit

•
Samsung Food: free, with Samsung Food+ at $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year. It runs on Android, iOS and the web, saves recipes from any website (there is a browser extension too) and turns a recipe or meal plan into a shopping list. A good fit for a big recipe box.
•
Paprika: sold separately for each platform, $4.99 for iPhone and iPad and $29.99 for Mac; it also runs on Android and Windows. Its built-in browser saves recipes from the web, and its grocery list combines similar ingredients. Paprika 4 has been in open beta since September 28, 2026, and Paprika says its premium features will need a subscription after the beta.
•
Plan to Eat: $5.95 a month or $49 a year after a 14-day free trial, with no free tier. Its Recipe Clipper saves recipes from websites, and you pick the meals for a calendar that builds your grocery list.
•
Prepear: a free tier that saves recipes from the web, plans meals and builds a grocery list. Prepear Gold is $119.99 a year after a 14-day trial.
•
Grocerplan: free. It plans seven dinners for you from its own 137 recipes and imports yours from a link, but it is not a big recipe search engine.

Honest limits

•
A small catalog: 137 recipes of our own, 78 of them dinners. Grocerplan is a planner first, not a big recipe search engine like Yummly was. For a large recipe box, Paprika or Samsung Food fits better.
•
Plan my week picks only from Grocerplan's recipes. Recipes you import go onto your week by hand.
•
Imported recipes carry no allergy tags, so Grocerplan can't check them for your allergens, and the Plan tab's picker hides them while you have allergies set.
•
Import reads the recipe data a page publishes, and some sites can't be read yet.
•
A website, not an App Store or Google Play app. It works in your phone's browser.
•
Instacart is the only store handoff on the web today. You can also print the list and shop anywhere.
•
No export button yet: print the list, or email us for a copy of your data.

Questions

Is there a free Yummly alternative?
Yes. Grocerplan is free: it imports recipes from a link, plans seven dinners for your week and builds one grocery list. Samsung Food is free too, with a paid Samsung Food+, and Prepear has a free tier. Yummly itself shut down on December 20, 2024, according to Plan to Eat's blog.
What app replaced Yummly for saving recipes?
Yummly's app and website went offline in December 2024, per Wikipedia, and yummly.com now forwards to kitchenaid.com/recipes. To save recipes from websites today, Samsung Food (free, with a browser extension), Paprika (its built-in browser), Plan to Eat (its Recipe Clipper), Prepear and Grocerplan (paste a link) all do it.
Is there a Yummly replacement that imports recipes from a link?
Yes. In Grocerplan, open Recipes, tap Add recipe, then Import from link, and paste up to 10 links, one per line; you can import 30 recipes a day. It reads the recipe data a page publishes, so some sites can't be imported yet.
What are the best Yummly alternatives to rebuild my recipe box?
For a big recipe box you can search, Paprika or Samsung Food. Paprika is $4.99 on iPhone and iPad, though Paprika says premium features will need a subscription after its Paprika 4 beta; Samsung Food is free, with a paid Samsung Food+. Choose Grocerplan if you'd rather have the week planned and one grocery list than a large collection.
Can I plan meals with the recipes I import?
Yes, by hand: open the recipe, tap Add to Plan and pick a night. It goes on the week's grocery list at the servings the recipe was written for. Plan my week fills the other nights from Grocerplan's recipes. Imported recipes carry no allergy tags, so check them for your allergens yourself.
Can I get my recipes out of Grocerplan later?
There is no export button yet. Email us and we will send you a copy of your data, and you can print any grocery list.
