Mealime has announced that its app will stop on October 21, 2026. If you plan meals with it, the useful work is now: save the recipes you actually cook and write down your settings, before your data is deleted.
What Mealime announced
Mealime's closing notice says five things that matter if you use it:
•
The date. Mealime "will be discontinued as of October 21, 2026."
•
Your data. "All personal data will be deleted when the Mealime application is shut down."
•
No export. The notice does not mention a way to export or download your recipes, plans or lists.
•
Pro. Pro features are now free for every Mealime user, and Pro subscribers "will not be charged any additional subscription fees" before the shutdown.
•
The recipes. "All Mealime recipes will continue to be available on Meals Hub."
What Meals Hub is
Meals Hub lives inside the store apps and websites of Albertsons Companies. Mealime's notice shows 13 of them: Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Jewel-Osco, ACME Markets, Shaw's, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Pavilions, Star Market, United Supermarkets, Haggen and Carrs.
Mealime says Meals Hub is free, including the recipes that used to need Mealime Pro, and that you can browse recipes, create meal plans and make shopping lists there even if you cannot shop at one of those stores. It also says Meals Hub is supported by the same core team that developed Mealime's recipes. For a side-by-side look, read Mealime vs Meals Hub. What is deleted, and what continues
Mealime's own recipes are not lost: Mealime says they all continue in Meals Hub. Your personal data does not continue. Mealime says all of it will be deleted at the shutdown, and its notice names no export for your plans or lists. According to Plan to Eat's blog, Mealime does not offer a bulk recipe export either. Save by hand whatever you want to keep.
Save your favorites
1.
List the meals you actually cook. You do not need the whole catalog.
2.
Open each one at mealime.com/recipes and copy its link. Mealime's recipes are public pages.
3.
Screenshot the ingredients and steps as a backup, in case a page moves after the shutdown.
4.
Paste the links into the planner you move to. In Grocerplan that is Recipes, then Add recipe, then Import from link, and you can paste up to 10 links at once.
Recipes you added yourself
Recipes you added to Mealime yourself have no public Mealime page, so a Mealime link will not work for them. If one came from another website, import it again from that website's link. Copy the rest into a note, or screenshot them, and add them to your new planner by hand.
Settings to write down
Write down your diet, allergies, disliked ingredients and serving size before October 21. Mealime will delete all personal data at the shutdown and names no export, and settings are the part of a planner that is tedious to rebuild from memory.
Where to go next
•
If you want to keep cooking Mealime's own recipes, Meals Hub is the most direct continuation, and Mealime says it works even if you do not shop at an Albertsons Companies store.
•
If you want a different planner, try one for a real week before October 21, while you can still compare against Mealime. Mealime alternatives compared puts the options side by side. •
Grocerplan is a free web planner (no app to install). It plans seven dinners for your household, gives each person their own diet and allergens, scales each meal from 1 to 50 servings (Mealime's help docs say up to 6), and turns the week into one grocery list you can check off, print, or send to Instacart, where you choose the store and check out. It has a small catalog of its own recipes, and the Instacart part works in the United States only. More in our Mealime alternative comparison, or browse quick 30-minute recipes. Questions
